2015 Marchand Bolnot Puligny-Montrachet
Puligny-Montrachet resides within Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune and is considered to be the world’s greatest expression of Chardonnay. This tiny village consists of just five hundred acres of vines yet is home to four monumental Grand Cru vineyards, Le Montrachet standing alone as the finest of the quartet. 2015 was a tremendous vintage for the region and we are thrilled to offer you a fine example of it with the Marchand Bolnot Puligny-Montrachet.
Pale gold in color with piercing clarity, the nose entices with green apple and lemongrass aromas, leading to a deeper perfume of peach, lychee, and hazelnut oil as the wine opens up. The palate delivers a similar experience, starting with a tense minerally mouthfeel that develops into richer flavors of pear and Meyer lemon as the wine sits in the glass. The finishes showcases Puligny’s classic refinement with a firm spine of minerality accented with nuances of citrus and a judicious touch of oak. Lovely today, the wine should evolve beautifully over the next 8-10 years.
